Foreclosure Prevention & Mitigation Counseling
NeighborWorks Montana/NeighborWorks Great Falls
www.nwgreatfalls.com

Program Overview

Foreclosure Prevention & Mitigation Counseling is a program made possible through NeighborWorks® Montana’s and NeighborWorks Great Falls’ network of certified foreclosure prevention and mitigation counselors. These counselors can help homeowners avoid foreclosure or help mitigate the impacts of foreclosure. When homeowners call, we will set up a confidential meeting with the servicer to review their mortgage. Here are some of the options: - We can help the homeowner communicate to the servicer for consideration for a modification or payment plan. - We can help create a budget that will bring the mortgage current. - We can offer a loan to the client to bring mortgage current if the qualify for the loan. - If homeowner can no longer afford the house payments, we can help arrange to sell the home to save homeowner’s equity and credit rating. - If mortgage is an adjustable rate mortgage (ARM) or an interest only loan, we may be able to identify resources to modify or refinance the loan.
