Program Overview

North Missoula Community Development Corporation’s Land Stewardship Program is a program that utilizes a community land trust to create permanently affordable homes for income-qualified homebuyers. The purpose of the Land Stewardship Program is to create equity-building opportunities for working families. In addition, the community gets a permanent stock of affordable homes in their neighborhood.

Who is eligible for this program?

Eligible participants must be first-time homebuyers that earn less than 80 percent of the area median income. A single person household must earn less than $31,000, a family of two must earn less than $35,450, family of three must earn less than $39,850 and a family of four must earn less than $44,300. Is this program for first time buyers only? Yes

Property Eligibility Requirements

The NMCDC has developed 47 community land trust homes in Missoula. Contact Jerry at 829-8414 to see which of these homes are currently available.

Benefit Details

Benefit: In some cases down-payment assistance is available form Missoula’s Human Resource Council. In some cases, first mortgage financing at 5.5 percent is provided by the Montana Board of Housing. Homebuyer Counseling / Education Required: Yes Owner Occupancy Required: Yes
